Disappearing Chengdu 3

光大巷 Guangdaxiang “Everbright Lane”

These photos were taken by my friend at the request of his grandfather, whose former home was about to be demolished. The neighborhood, located in the heart of Chengdu, is 300 years old, making it possibly the oldest residential area remaining in the city.

Some of the area is still standing. I found an interesting article (in Chinese) on a blog here, which I’ll have my friend explain to me. In the meantime, enjoy the ambience.
