Some new photos of old places
Here are some photos I took last winter of places that I found haunting or moody. They’re black and white photographs that I recently scanned and re-worked in Photoshop.
An old narrow lane near Da Ci Si [Monastery of Infinite Mercy or Compassion] in central Chengdu. Most of the area has been leveled for redevelopment, and it has a shadowy atmosphere.
Distressed door, downtown Chengdu. The door, and the building to which it was attached, are now gone.
Carved wooden door on a shopfront, Luodai Ancient Town, outside of Chengdu.
Old tree beside a wall, just outside the Da Ci Si monastery complex.
