Some interesting buildings

I love “collecting” buildings that interest me. In case you haven’t figured it out, I’m an architecture buff. Every building has a story to tell, some of them sad, some bizarre, but almost always interesting.

Ancient building, downtown Chengdu. This is one of those structures that is still there purely “by chance.” It’s right across the street from a beautiful temple building that’s completely boarded up.

The roof is caving in, the structure’s tilting, but – business goes on as usual. It’s just freaky.

“Peacock” Building of bamboo (see my previous post for description) – I stumbled on this complex by accident

Peacock Pavilion in the middle of lotus pond; it looks like an oversized matchstick building.
